Basketball Action for Bakehila's Team

This picture was taken by HaPoel's professional photographer in the midst of a Eurocup game, and is now used as the main cover photo for HaPoel's Facebook page.
Bakehila's kids were so excited to experience the game that they didn't even notice!
Last week, Year of Service Fellows (YoS Fellows) of Neve Yaakov took the children of their local Learning and Enrichment center to see a real basketball match in the new Arena stadium.
"We sat in the front row and even got photographed for television, because we had painted the faces of all the children!" says Itai, the Year of Service Fellow pictured above.
The kids and YoS fellows were very enthusiastic before the game and made many preparations. Together they created signs, practiced game chants, and made sure HaPoel's colors were on their clothes and their faces too.

"This all started because of the basketball team we opened in Neve Yaakov," says Itai, referring to Neve Yaakov's basketball team for Bakehila's kids that recently opened, admitting 10 children of the 4th to 6th grade.
The team works on building the children's basketball skills and coordination, as well as building teamwork and confidence, both on the court and in life.
When the YoS Fellows took the basketball team to see a real game, the excitement was tangeable as the children yelled their encouragement to the players, jumped up and down with excitement and showed off their signs and facepaint.
We can't wait to see Neve Yaakov's Bakehila Basketball team in action!
